Best practices for clear, sharp photos:
Close-up: Focus on your pet's face or distinctive features
Lighting: Natural light is best — avoid harsh shadows
Focus: Pet looking at camera preferred, but any angle works
Variety: Multiple angles help us capture their personality
Avoid: Blurry, very dark, distant, or low-resolution photos

❓ Customer Q&A
Common questions, honest answers.
The 5 questions buyers ask most before placing their first order. Still wondering something? Chat with the PetSoul team →
Q1.My photo is one-handed / partial — only their paw or my hand visible. Will it work?+
Partial-hand and one-handed framing is the SOUL of Touch & Connection. The moment when you couldn't pull away to grab a proper shot — the paw on your palm, the head settled on your lap, the nose against your forehead — that's exactly the bond we frame. Our artists are skilled at composing with partial human elements (hand, sleeve, lap) as anchors that honor the touch. If your pet's face isn't visible at all, we'll email you within 24h with re-shoot tips. You only pay if we can make it work.
Q2.Can I have more than one pet in the portrait?+
Yes — up to 5 pets in one Touch & Connection portrait. Each additional pet is +$20 (covers extra composition + illustration time). They don't need to be in the same source photo — your PetSoul artist composites them naturally into the same scene. Just upload 1–2 clear photos per pet.
Q3.What if I don't like the sketch or final illustration?+
You get two approvals before we print: the pencil sketch (Day 2) and the final color illustration (Day 6). At either stage you can request unlimited revisions, free — different pose, lighting, expression, composition.
Happiness Guarantee: Within 14 days of delivery, if your portrait doesn't match what you approved — or arrives damaged in transit — we'll free replacement, your choice. Note: because you sign off twice before printing, refunds aren't issued for "I changed my mind" after approval. Read full policy →
Q4.I need it by a specific date — birthday, gift, memorial. Can you guarantee?+
Standard delivery is 10–14 days total. For tight deadlines, add Priority Proof (+$10) to get your sketch in 24h instead of 2–3 days. For dates under 5 days from order, chat with our team first — we'll confirm before charging.
Q5.Do you ship internationally? Any extra fees?+
Yes — we ship to 38 countries. US orders over $99 ship free; international shipping calculated at checkout (typically $18–$40 depending on size + destination). Buyer responsible for any import duties/VAT — these are usually 10–20% of order value in EU, AU, CA. See full shipping table →

"I cried when I opened the box."
"Mochi started doing it about a year in. Every night when I'd sit on the edge of the bed reading, she'd climb up, rest her chin near my leg, and lay one paw across the back of my hand. Just one paw. Light. Like she was checking I was still there. I never noticed how much that little gesture meant until I caught it in a photo one night by accident — the lamp was on, her paw was on my hand, the rest of her was half-asleep. our artist kept everything that mattered: the curl of Mochi's claws, the soft creased skin of my hand, the warm pool of bedside light. The framed canvas hangs at the foot of the bed now. Every morning before I get up, I look at it. It's the quietest love I've ever owned."

Customers love that the portraits capture their pet's actual personality — not just a generic likeness. Many highlight PetSoul's watercolor texture and the artists' thoughtful approach to picking up subtle details (whisker bends, eye color, fur patterns) from the source photo. The two-stage approval process receives consistent praise for letting buyers refine before printing. A few mention that delivery occasionally runs slightly longer than the 10–14 day window, and one note about damaged-in-transit framing resolved quickly by customer service.
Got the 12×16 framed canvas of Tofu resting his paw on my open book. our artist nailed the soft pads of his toes — and the watercolor texture made the dim lamp-lit photo feel intentional. Hangs in my reading nook now.

"My wife cried. In a good way."
Anniversary gift. Our cat Pepper passed last year — I sent our artist a photo from her last summer. The watercolor caught her exact expression. Two-stage approval was reassuring; got to tweak the background before printing.

"Captured Theo's tail curl perfectly."
Our French bulldog Theo always picked the warm corner of the sectional. our artist captured the curl of his tail and the way he tucked one paw under his chin. Best $109 we've spent on art.

"Turned a blurry phone shot into gallery quality."
My photo of Whiskers napping on the cat tree was pretty rough. I wasn't sure it would work. our artist turned it into something gallery-quality — the fur texture is unreal up close.

"Both cavaliers, both personalities."
Multi-pet portrait of Pippa and Bailey. They're sisters but completely different — Pippa is bossy, Bailey is gentle. our artist got both. Pippa even has her little smug face. Worth the +$20.

"Gorgeous artwork, slightly slow shipping."
Took 15 days total — one day past the 10-14 estimate. The collie portrait itself is 5★ — our artist nailed his gentle expression. Knocking one star purely for timing.

"Oak-Tone lighter than I expected."
The Oak-Tone finish is lighter than the website preview suggested — wish there was a darker natural option. The illustration is gorgeous though, our artist's work on my retriever is flawless. Would order again, just go Walnut-Tone next time.

"Two-stage approval saved my order."
First sketch had wrong eye color for my golden Bingo — they're amber, not brown. Flagged it, our artist fixed in 24h. The final piece is more "him" than my actual photos. That approval flow is the difference.

"Beautiful art, frame feels light."
The portrait itself is beautiful — our artist did great work with my photo of Biscuit. But I expected a heavier frame for $109. It feels lighter than other framed canvases I've bought. Still, the art is what matters most, and that's solid.

"Sits in the spot he used to sleep."
Lost our old man Rusty last summer. The portrait sits in the spot where he used to sleep. I cry every time I walk past, but in the best way. our artist understood what we needed without us having to explain it.

"Heavier and nicer than I expected."
Walnut frame is heavier and nicer than the photos suggested. The watercolor catches morning light beautifully on our east-facing wall. The whole apartment feels more "us" with it up there.

"She went silent for 30 seconds. Then cried."
Christmas gift for my wife — black lab portrait of our boy Cooper. She unwrapped it and went silent for 30 seconds. Then she cried. The artwork is just that good.

"Third pet portrait service — first one that didn't feel like a template."
I've ordered from 3 other pet portrait services. This is the first one that didn't feel like a template. our artist's questions about Luna's personality were what set it apart — she actually wanted to know who Luna was, not just what she looked like.

"9 days, no Rush upgrade needed."
Lightning fast even without paying for Rush — came in 9 days. The frame is solid pine, feels premium not flimsy. Mini schnauzer portrait turned out exactly how I imagined.
