Our Story · Studio est. 2022

Why we exist.

Every pet has a soul. Every soul deserves a story — not just a portrait. We're the studio behind the wall, the artists behind the brushwork, and the people who'd rather tell your pet's story than ours.

Founder's Story

Our origin.

The founder of PetSoul, who started the studio after Max

I started PetSoul because I couldn't find what I was looking for. Every "pet portrait" I came across was a static face — pet sitting still, looking at the camera, no context. None of them were stories.

I wanted something that captured the moments — Max's first day home, his first lake swim with the life jacket too big, his last quiet afternoon. Not a portrait. A series of moments. A life, in chapters.

Max — three chapters of his life hand-illustrated as a Gallery Wall trio, with Max himself in his favorite spot
Max · 2018 — 2025

I looked at Max and saw a whole life — first day home, first lake swim, last quiet afternoon.

Then I realized — not every story needs the same length.

Each PetSoul format started as a real chapter of Max's life.

That's why PetSoul exists in four forms — because every story deserves a frame that fits its length.

The Hands Behind Your Moments

Meet our artists

Five hands. Five styles. One promise — every brush stroke chosen with care, never traced, never rushed.

Maya Reyes
Watercolor

Maya Reyes

★ 4.95 · 8y · 312 pieces

I paint with water because nothing else captures morning light through a curtain. My favorite pieces are the quiet ones — the way a cat rests her chin on a pillow, the way a dog watches the door at 5 PM.

James Whitford

James Whitford

★ 4.92 · 12y · 480 pieces

Oil takes time. So do good portraits. I've painted senior pets for over a decade — the layers in my work mirror the layers of a long, loved life. Bold strokes, rich pigments, never traced.

Sara Lin

Sara Lin

★ 4.88 · 5y · 196 pieces

I came to PetSoul from editorial illustration. My style is intentional, considered — every element earns its place. Modern doesn't mean cold; it means clear. Bright colors, clean compositions.

I trained in classical drawing. Pencil sketch holds emotion that pixels can't — the pressure of a line, the breath between strokes. I do every Story Book by hand, page by page.

★ 4.99 · 12y · 380 pieces

Memorial work asks for a different kind of attention. I paint the gray that earned itself, the soft eyes that knew us. My pieces hold the room differently — quieter, weightier, late light.
